AB Events or ‘Agie Beauty Events’ as it was originally known, actually started because of my nail clients!
Through my work as a nail tech, I was constantly having conversations with clients about how hard it can be to make friends, getting yourself out of the house or trying something for you! I’d find myself thinking all the time “they would get on with my other client” or “they’d be such good friends with…” and it made me realise how many connections could happen if people were just in the right space together. So I thought, why not create that space?
So many of us want to do more, meet people and experience life, but there isn’t always the space or environment to do that! Growing up in Kettering, I’ve always felt like there wasn’t loads of things to do or places to go, and sometimes you just want that sense of belonging. So naturally AB Events grew…
Hosting has always been a part of me. From selling cakes to my teachers at school to raise money for charity, to hosting events at home, to doing dinners for family and friends, I’ve always loved bringing people together. It’s something that’s always felt really natural to me.
The first event was just for nail clients, family and friends… tote bag painting workshop, and that was it. Straight away, I could see the demand was there. People came, they connected, they enjoyed themselves, and it just felt right.
That’s when I realised this is what people are looking for. We want connection. We want to feel human. We want to do things that bring us together in a way that feels easy and genuine.
That’s what AB Events is built on. And honestly, as long as people need connection, creativity and kind spaces like this, I’ll keep creating them!
